A Fatigue Primer for Structural Engineers / Fisher, Kulak and Smith. The latest publication from the National Steel Bridge Alliance is designed to provide structural engineers with the necessary background to understand and use the current rules for fatigue strength. A Fatigue Primer for Structural Engineers examines the fundamentals of fatigue and looks at basic fracture mechanic concepts, fatigue strength analysis, fatigue assessment procedures for variable stress ranges, distortion-induced fatigue cracking, inspection and repair of fatigue cracks. In addition, the book includes 13 examples of problems, including several examples pertaining to the AASHTO Specifications. May 1998.
